Botany tour and orchids
Turkey is a unique "spice shop" like country where Asia meats Europe and Africa, that is why it attracts with its' extraordinary variety of flora, fauna and history. It welcomes with beautiful scenery and large areas of wonderful natural preserved countryside.
The growing consciousness that Turkey enjoys a special status from the point of view of biological diversity has led between 1987 and 1991 to the designation of twenty three areas as nature preserves.
Turkey has some of the richest flora in Europa - 9000 higher plant species and about 3000 as turkish endemics identified.
A wide range of plant communities can be observed in Turkey. The greatest variety of habitats and plants communities occurs in the larger turkish Taurus mountain ranges.
